DouLOVE: Compassionate End-of-Life Support for Every Community
Companioning the end-of-life journey through community, compassion, and legacy.
A PAUSE Initiative working to expand access to end-of-life care while closing the racial grief gap.
Walk in the Light of Your Legacy
Here we strive to
DouLOVE helps individuals and families live intentionally, prepare thoughtfully, navigate life’s final transitions with dignity, and preserve what matters for the generations who follow.
DouLOVE is a community-centered initiative that supports individuals, families, caregivers, and end-of-life practitioners navigating the journey of death, grief, and legacy.

We provide:
• guidance for families seeking end-of-life doulas
• resources for caregivers and communities, including advocacy
• programs that explore legacy, grief, and remembrance
• spaces for practitioners to pause, reflect, and heal from the emotional weight of their work

DouLOVE is the Legacy & End-of-Life Initiative of PAUSE ~ A Movement for a Moment. It brings together legacy development, life review, storytelling, practical preparation, end-of-life education, doula support, funeral planning connections, remembrance, and grief aftercare.
The work grew from a truth revealed through generations of funeral service: families often discover too late what they wish they had discussed, documented, repaired, understood, or celebrated while there was still time.
DouLOVE takes that wisdom beyond the walls of the funeral home and into everyday life. We educate before urgency. We talk before silence becomes regret. We document before stories disappear. We prepare so families carry less burden. And we reveal legacy while people are alive enough to experience it.
What DouLOVE Is
DouLOVE is a community-centered initiative designed to support the many people touched by the end-of-life journey.

We connect families with compassionate doulas while also creating spaces for caregivers, practitioners, and communities to pause, reflect, and grow.
Through education, advocacy, and legacy work, DouLOVE seeks to expand access to meaningful end-of-life care for all communities.
You do not have to be dying to enter DouLOVE.
PAUSE teaches us to become conscious of the life we are living.
DouLOVE helps us reveal, prepare and preserve the legacy that life is creating.
Floyd A. Williams Funeral Home honors that life when death comes.
And PAUSE remains to help those still living carry the story forward.

DouLOVE's Continuum

Just to be Clear:
-
A 30-year-old can enter through legacy.
-
A 50-year-old can enter through estate planning.
-
A caregiver can enter through resources.
-
An elder can enter through life review.
-
A dying person can enter through Doula support.
-
A family experiencing a death can enter through Floyd A. Williams Funeral Home.
-
A bereaved person can continue through PAUSE.
DouLOVE Aftercare Bridge
PAUSE ~ A Movement for a Moment supports people across the full spectrum of life, grief, wellness and transition. DouLOVE is PAUSE's legacy and end-of-life initiative, helping individuals live intentionally, prepare thoughtfully, navigate life's final transitions and preserve what matters. Floyd A. Williams Funeral Home is the professional death-care practice and founding strategic partner whose generations of service helped shape this Lens of Legacy—providing the sacred care of families at death while helping that wisdom transcend the funeral-home walls into the community.

That is community health work viewed through an end-of-life lens.
We are not trying to get people to think about funerals all day.
We're addressing what funeral service has shown you happens when people don't talk about life and death soon enough.
You repeatedly see the consequences:
Family members who do not know what someone wanted.
Stories lost because nobody recorded them.
Conflict after a death.
People who have never completed basic planning.
Parents who never explained family history.
Children who don't know why traditions exist.
Caregivers carrying impossible decisions.
Families frightened by words like hospice or palliative care.
People who think estate planning is only for wealthy people.
Individuals who believe writing an obituary means they are "speaking death over themselves."
People who have reconciliations they keep postponing.
Funeral expenses nobody anticipated.
Grief that begins months or years before physical death.
And entire communities in which death has often been associated with trauma rather than preparation, dignity, agency and legacy.
DouLOVE goes upstream.
Instead of meeting people only after crisis:
We educate before urgency.
We talk before silence becomes regret.
We document before stories disappear.
We reconcile while voices can still answer.
We prepare so families carry less burden.
We reveal legacy while people are alive enough to experience it.
